PGSO Receives Major Donation from Brink Forest Products

The President of Brink Forest Products Ltd., Mr. John Brink, today presented the Prince George Symphony Orchestra Society with a cash donation of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00). Mr. Brink presented the $5,000 cheque to Ms Roberta Williams, President of the PGSO Society at a brief ceremony at the Brink Forest Products manufacturing plant this afternoon.

In making the presentation, Mr. Brink said, “We are a rich, culturally diverse community because of organizations like the Prince George Symphony Orchestra. This institution should be important to all of us in Prince George, whether we’re personally fond of symphonic music or not.” “It’s important for business, industry and professionals to support the arts. The overall image of Prince George is enhanced as a result.”

PGSO President Roberta Williams said the symphony is very grateful to John Brink and his company for such a substantial donation – as well as to the company’s financial guarantee that made the annual PGSO truck raffle possible. “Without the financial guarantee, we might have never been able to hold a raffle. We’re fortunate to receive generous backing from such a community-spirited company”, added Ms Williams.

John Brink says it’s vital we maintain a well-rounded community. He points out that Prince George’s current challenge of recruiting medical professionals, new businesses and corporate investment is made much easier with a wide range of cultural, sports and educational facilities.
